Walk me through your evaluation of a new post-surgical patient.

Show a structured exam: history, precautions, objective measures, and how you set functional goals with the patient. Mention respecting surgeon protocols.

How do you keep a patient engaged with a home exercise program they keep skipping?

Talk about shrinking the program to a few meaningful exercises, tying them to the patient's own goals, and checking barriers without judgment.

Describe a patient who was not progressing. What did you change?

Demonstrate clinical reasoning: reassessing, questioning the diagnosis, adjusting load or frequency, and knowing when to refer back to the physician.

How do you manage productivity expectations with quality of care?

Be candid: efficient documentation habits, smart scheduling, and where your line is. Clinics ask because burnout and shortcuts are real risks.

What is your experience with documentation for insurance and Medicare?

Mention defensible documentation, showing skilled need and progress with objective measures, and familiarity with visit limits and G-codes or current equivalents.

Which patient populations are you most comfortable with, and where do you want to grow?

Be honest about your depth, such as orthopedics or neuro, and name a genuine growth area. Clinics value self-aware clinicians over broad claims.
