Show calm, developmentally informed responses: staying near, naming the feeling, keeping others engaged, and following up rather than punishing.

What does a good day in your classroom look like?

Walk through the rhythm: arrival, free play, small groups, outdoor time, rest. Emphasize predictable routines with room for children's interests.

How do you support early literacy and math without worksheets?

Give playful examples: read-alouds, rhyming games, counting during snack, pattern blocks. Show you embed learning in play deliberately.

How do you communicate with parents, especially about concerns?

Describe daily positive touchpoints so hard conversations have a foundation, and sharing specific observations rather than labels.

What would you do if you suspected a child was being neglected or abused?

Know your mandated reporter duty: document observations and report through the required channel promptly. This is a non-negotiable answer.

How do you handle biting or hitting between children?

Show a standard approach: attend to the hurt child first, teach the alternative behavior, watch for patterns and triggers, and inform both families per policy.
