Show a systematic path: forecast accuracy, lead times, safety stock settings, and supplier performance, in that order. Avoid jumping to one cause.
What is your experience with ERP or planning systems?
Name the systems and the modules you actually worked in, and describe one report or process you built or improved.
How do you balance inventory carrying cost against service level?
Explain the tradeoff plainly and mention safety stock, demand variability, and lead time. A simple worked example beats theory.
Tell me about a time your analysis was challenged by operations. What happened?
Show that you listened, checked the assumptions they questioned, and either corrected the model or explained it better. Humility plus rigor.
Which metrics would you track weekly for a distribution network?
Pick a small set and defend it: fill rate, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, on-time delivery, and freight cost per unit are a solid core.
