Describe ingest, organization, selects, a radio cut or rough assembly, then refinement. Editors are hired for process, not just taste.

How do you decide the pacing of an edit?

Talk about serving the story and the platform, using music, breath, and rhythm, and cutting anything that does not earn its place.

Tell me about a difficult note from a client or director and how you handled it.

Show that you look for the problem behind the note. Often the fix is different from what was literally requested.

How comfortable are you with color and sound work?

Be honest about your level. Knowing when to do a basic grade and mix yourself versus hand off to specialists is a mark of experience.

How do you manage versions and media across a long project?
