Walk the logic: identify the load, isolate sections, check for overload versus short versus ground fault, and test rather than guess. Method over speed.
What is your licensing status and where are you in your hours?
State your license or apprenticeship hours plainly, including the state. If you are close to journeyman, give the timeline.
Tell me about a time you found work that was not to code. What did you do?
Show that you flagged it, explained the risk to the customer or foreman, and corrected it properly rather than working around it.
How do you stay safe working near energized equipment?
Mention lockout/tagout, testing before touching, PPE, and refusing shortcuts under schedule pressure. Employers hire the habit, not the bravado.
What types of projects have you worked: residential, commercial, or industrial?
Be specific about the settings and systems, such as service upgrades, lighting circuits, motor controls, or panel changes.
How do you keep up with NEC code changes?
